Headteacher's Welcome

We are privileged to welcome you to our website. We are a happy learning community near the center of Leicester, in the Highfields area. The positive, warm, welcoming atmosphere, support from the community and constant drive for improvement makes Highfields Primary School a very special place.

At Highfields Primary School, we believe that every child is unique and has the potential to achieve great things. Our skilled, dedicated and passionate team are committed to unlocking your child's full potential and helping them develop into confident, independent, and well-rounded individuals whilst providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for them to thrive in.

Our school prides itself on its inclusive and diverse community, where every child is valued and respected. We have a strong focus on promoting our school values, which we believe are essential for your child's personal and academic growth.

Our children develop high expectations of themselves to become responsible citizens who have respect for others. There is a continuous focus on developing confidence, resilience, and independence so that children leave Highfields ready to face the challenges that life brings.

All our decisions, from the strategic to teaching and learning, are made to fulfil our vision to equip our children with the tools they need to prosper in life and succeed beyond the expected.

Throughout the website, you can find out more about our fantastic work and other useful information about our school.

Pharmacy First

Over 95% of pharmacies in England now provide the NHS Pharmacy First service which supports people in certain age groups who need help with:

  • Earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
  • Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
  • Infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
  • Shingles (aged 18 years and over)
  • Sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
  • Sore throats (aged 5 years and over)
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women (aged 16 to 64 years)

If your child or you have symptoms that suggest you may have one of these conditions, you can walk into a pharmacy and be offered a consultation with a pharmacist in a private consultation room. Your GP surgery can also refer people to a pharmacy for the service.

Should the pharmacist be unable to help, you will be directed to your GP surgery or other health professional as appropriate.

Watch the animation on Pharmacy First or visit nhs.uk/thinkpharmacyfirst for more information.
