UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)

Data Protection governs how information about living people (such as pupils, parents, staff and volunteers) is collected and used. The UK data protection regime is set out in the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018, along with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Data protection law applies to the processing of personal data. This means data which relates to an individual who can be identified from that information. It does not affect all the records the school or academy trust holds because much of it will not contain personal data.

Our school is part of Attenborough Learning Trust (ALT) and therefore ALT is the Data Controller and responsible for compliance under UK GDPR.
