School Dinners
Children really enjoy school dinners at Highfields Primary. All meals are halal and are freshly prepared on site and there is a choice of main courses and puddings each day. A choice of salads and fresh fruit is always available.
All our school meals comply with the governments nutritional standards and are healthy and balanced. From time to time we have special days and theme weeks which are great fun.
School meals are £2.34 per day or £11.70 per week and are paid for in advance, on the first day of the school week which is usually Monday. You will need to seal the money in an envelope and write your child's name and class on the front and the amount of money in the envelope.
Cartons of milk to drink at breaktime cost an additional £1 a week or 20p each day.
Many children are entitled to free school meals. If you are receiving Income Support, your child is entitled to a free meal. An application form for this is available from the office.
Packed Lunch
Pupils may bring a packed lunch to eat in school. This must be suitable for a growing child. Sweets and chocolate are not appropriate. Drinking water is provided for all pupils at the table.
We also provide free fruit for all children in Key Stage 1 to eat in the morning, and throughout the day in Foundation Stage.
